Code of Ethics

Executive Summary

Mandaean Media Network (MMN) is a community based media production association. MMN mission is to advance the process of generating community news and current affairs and to inform and educate the Mandaean community about issues within Australia and globally.

In order to achieve these goals, MMN will adopt Code of Ethics (The Code) based on four principles: to be humane, to be independent, to be impartial and to be transparent (HIIT). By following these principles, MMN will gain the trust of the Mandaean Community to choose MMN as a source of news and information.

Scope of the Code

The Code will be applicable to the management committee, general members, volunteers and employees who are part of MMN. MMN members will read and agree to adhere to The Code as part of the agreement to participate in MMN activities.

MMN will make all efforts to inform and educate about The Code to MMN stakeholders such as other associations and MMN programs’ guests.   

The Code is applicable to all content produced, obtained and acquired by MMN that will be published on platforms where MMN has editorial rights over them.

Humanity

MMN treats all humans equally. MMN considers our differences are the source of our strength as different people bring in different skills and ideas. 

MMN won’t tolerate hate speech. MMN will treat and address everyone with respect and dignity.

MMN will approach issues with compassion and give the benefit of doubt.

Independent

MMN upholds the rule of the Australian law. MMN is independent and doesn’t follow or try to convey the message of any other association, group or organisation, in Australia or outside Australia.

MMN will seek partnerships with other organisations in order to achieve MMN mission while preserving The Code. 

Impartiality

MMN will inform without bias, by presenting and covering the story from all possible points of views.

MMN will obtain factual and accurate information. The available information at the time will be presented after verifying it. MMN will correct any major inaccuracies if otherwise presented at a later stage.

MMN will approach issues and people with fair treatment and give equal opportunity to different parties to express their point of view. Therefore, MMN will never favor one opinion over another, and each party will have the chance to present their case as long as they observe the humanity point above.

Transparent

MMN is allowing itself to be accountable, by being transparent.

MMN will disclose all sources of income through its annual financial report which will be made publicly available.

MMN won’t accept donations. MMN will charge for advertisements that don't contradict The Code. 

MMN will swiftly correct and clarify any information when new information based on evidence becomes available, and delivered to MMN.

MMN will make the methodology used available that will help the consumers verify the accuracy of the information presented. MMN will reserve the right to disclose the source of information as it fits The Code.

MMN members will disclose any conflict of interest, and won’t be involved in any related decision making.

Feedback and Complaints

MMN will accept feedback and complaints on the following address: info@mmn.news

Once received, the feedback and complaint will be acknowledged with a defined timeframe to attend to the communication.

If a clarification is required, this will be provided in a manner that comply with The Code.

If the other party isn’t satisfied, MMN will refer the matter to the Australian Press Council to have the matter looked into it.

MMN is incorporated under the Association Incorporation Act 2009 (NSW) and the Associations Incorporation Regulation 2016 (NSW)

القواعد الأخلاقية للعمل

مقدمة:

شبكة الإعلام المندائي (MMN) هي جمعية مجتمعية للإنتاج الإعلامي. هدف الجمعية هو الدفع إلى الأمام بعملية إنتاج الأخبار المجتمعية والأحداث الأنية. كذلك تعمل الجمعية على توعية وتثقيف المجتمع المندائي بالقضايا في داخل أستراليا وخارجها.

حتى تستطيع MMN من تحقيق هذه الأهداف، فإنها ستتبنى قواعد أخلاقية للعمل (القواعد) مستندة على أربع مبادئ أساسية: إنسانية التعامل، الاستقلالية، والحيادية، والشفافية. عن طريق هذا الالتزام بهذه القواعد MMN ستكسب ثقة المجتمع المندائي وسيختارها المجتمع كمصدر للأخبار والمعلومات.

على من ينطبق:

القواعد ستنطبق على الهيئة الإدارية، الهيئة العامة، المتطوعين والموظفين الذين يشكلون MMN. الأعضاء يقرأون ويوافقون على الالتزام بهذه القواعد كجزء من الموافقة على الأشتراك بنشاطات MMN

ستقوم MMN بالمحاولة للإخبار والتثقيف بهذه القواعد الى المستفيدين من MMN بضمنهم الجمعيات الأخرى وضيوف برامج MMN

القواعد ستنطبق على كل المواد المنتجة، المواد التي سيتم الحصول عليها و المواد المشتراة والتي ستنشر على المنصات التي تملك MMN حقوق التحرير فيها

إنسانية التعامل

تتعامل MMN كل البشر بشكل متساوي. تعتبر MMN أن اختلافاتنا كبشر هي مصدر قوتنا، حيث ان كل انسان يحمل مهارات وأفكار مختلفة.

الكلام العدائي والذي يولد الكراهية هو غير مقبول اطلاقا. ستتعامل وتخاطب MMN كل انسان بأحترام وتعاملهم بشرف

الاستقلالية

سيكون القانون الأسترالي هو الأساس بالنسبة ل MMN 

جمعية MMN هي جمعية مستقلة ولا تتبع او تتبنى رسائل اي مؤسسة او مجموعة او منظمة في استراليا او خارجها.

ستعمل MMN على عمل شراكات مع المنظمات الأخرى لتحقيق اهداف MMN مع المحافظة على هذه القواعد.

الحيادية

ستعمل MMN على الإخبار بدون انحياز وذلك عن طريق تقديم وتغطية القصة من كل وجهات النظر المحتملة

ستحصل MMN على المعلومات الدقيقة والمرتكزة على الحقائق. المعلومات المتوفرة في وقت تغطية الحدث ستقدم بعد التأكد منها. ستعمل MMN  على تصحيح أي معلومة غير دقيقة في حالة توافر معلومات مغايرة في وقت لاحق.

ستعامل MMN الناس والقضايا بطريقة منصفة وستعطي الفرصة المتساوية لمختلف الأطراف للتعبير عن وجهات نظرهم. لذلك فأن MMN لن تفضل رأي على آخر وسيكون لكل طرف الفرصة لعرض قضيتهم بحدود الاحترام والإنسانية اعلاه

الشفافية

ستكون MMN قابلة للمحاسبة لكونها تحترم مبدأ الشفافية.

ستقوم MMN بالإفصاح عن كل مصادر الدخل من خلال تقريرها المالي السنوي والذي سيكون متاحا للعامة لمراجعته.

لن تقبل MMN أي تبرعات. ستقوم MMN بتحصيل الأجور لقاء الأعلانات والتي لا تتعارض مع هذه القواعد.

ستعمل MMN على تصحيح وتوضيح بشكل سريع في حالة وجود معلومات غير دقيقة وحصول MMN على معلومات أكثر دقة مستندة على الأدلة

ستنشر MMN طريقة جمع المعلومات ليتمكن المتلقي من تحديد دقة المعلومة المقدمة. ستحتفظ MMN بحق الكشف عن مصادر المعلومات وبما يتطابق مع هذه القواعد

سيقوم أعضاء MMN بالكشف عن تعارض المصالح، ولن يتدخلوا باتخاذ أي قرار ذو علاقة بهذه المصالح.

ستقوم MMN بقبول الآراء والشكاوى على العنوان التالي info@mmn.news

حال وصولها ستقوم MMN بأعلان وصولها مع إعطاء فترة زمنية معرفة للإجابة

إذا كان هناك توضيح مطلوب، سيتم ذلك بطريقة وأسلوب يتطابق مع هذه القواعد.

اذا لم يكتفي الطرف المشتكي بالجواب، ستقوم MMN بإحالة المسألة الى مجلس المطبوعات الأسترالية للنظر بها
